The Seattle International Beer Festival Is Coming - July 6-8

With Seattle Beer Week, the Washington Brewers Festival and the National Homebrew Conference all behind us, it's time to look ahead to what's next.

Kicking off one week from Friday at the Fischer Pavilion at Seattle Center is the 2012 Seattle Internatioal Beer Festival.  This three-day event will feature over 200 different beers from 16 different countries, live music, food, games and more.

I'll be volunteering at this year's festival.  It'll be nice to help out, but also nice to receive free admission and beer tickets for use after my shift.  I believe they're getting pretty full on volunteers, but if you're interested, you can sign up HERE

The dates and times for the festival are:

Fri July 6 12pm-10pm
Sat July 7 12pm-10pm
Sun July 8 12pm-7pm

Tickets are $25 if purchased in advance or $30 at the gate Friday and Sunday or $35 at the gate on Saturday.  You can purchase advance tickets HERE.  The price of your tickets gets you entry to the festival, an official Seattle Beer Week 2012 taster glass and 10 beer tickets.

Each beer at the festival will be served in a 4oz size and the price of each beer can range from 1 to 7 tickets, depending on the beer.  Price is not based on rarity, but rather the actual cost to produre each beer for the festival.

PLEASE NOTE: Friday is your best day to attend for one simple reason.  The re-entry policy for the festival allows you free re-entry all weekend long.  You just have to make sure to retain your festival wristband and taster glass.  So, if you purchase an advance ticket for friday, you can attend Saturday and Sunday as well.  You'll need more beer tickets, of course.  And additional tickets are $1 each.

Have a good friend or significant other who's agreed to be your designated driver?  Non-drinkers can enter the fest for just $5 but, of course, will not be served.

Confirmed food vendors for the festival include:

Skillet
Mt Townsend Creamery (Cheese Bar)
Rancho Bravo Tacos & BBQ
Dante's Inferno Dogs
Pagliacci Pizza
Bakke Brothers Jerky
Ekernal Bliss Kettle Corn
Albina Street Nuts

And here is the live music lineup for all three days:

3:15-4:30 New Orleans Quintet
5:00-6:15 Hot Club Sandwich
6:45-8:00 The Black Crabs

Sat 7/7
1:30-2:45 Hot Club Sandwich
3:15-4:30 The Rainieros
5:00-6:15 Roy Kay Trio
6:45-8:00 The Black Crabs

Sun 7/8
1:30-2:45 The Tall Boys
3:15-4:30 Roy Kay Trio
5:15-6:45 The Haggis Brothers

I'll be attending the festival on Friday and volunteering on Saturday afternoon.  I hope to see you there!

Drink responsibly and stay safe out there.
