Beer Monger's Picks For Seattle Beer Week 2012

Seattle Beer Week 2012 kicks off tomorrow!  Are you ready?  There are well over 150 events listed at various locations throughout Seattle and the Puget Sound, but you'll need a plan of attack if you want to keep them all straight and hit the events you really want.

Here are my picks for Seattle Beer Week 2012, and the events I plan on attending myself:

Thursday, May 10, 2012:

Seattle Beer Week Kickoff Part 1 at Elysian Brewing Company on Capitol Hill (1221 E Pike St., Seattle, WA).  Join everyone at Elysian for the tappling of the Official Seattle Beer Week Beer, Split Shot, which will be tapped at 6:00PM.  Let the festivities begin!

Seattle Beer Week Kickoff Part 2 at Pyramid Breweries' Seattle Alehouse (1201 First Ave. S, Seattle, WA).  Stop 2 on the opening night pub-crawl festivities for Seattle Beer Week 2012.

Seattle Beer Week Kickoff Part 3 at Naked City Brewery & Taphouse (8564 Greenwood Ave. N, Seattle, WA).  Stop 3 on the opening night pub-crawl festivities for Seattle Beer Week 2012. Come rub elbows with some of the stars of the brewing world.

Seattle Beer Week Kickoff Part 4 at The Pine Box (1600 Melrose Ave., Seattle, WA).  "Come put a nail in yer coffin" at the final stop of the opening night pub-crawl festivities for Seattle Beer Week 2012.

Friday, May 11, 2012:

'Back In Black' Stout Fest at Brouwer's Cafe (400 N 35th St., Seattle WA). This event has been billed as "A night of the biggest of the big, and the blackest of the black Stouts from around the way."  If you love stout - this is an event no to be missed!

Double Mountain vs. Terminal Gravity at The Noble Fir (5316 Ballard Ave. NW, Seattle, WA).  A Double Mountain vs. Terminal Gravity tap takeover.

Firestone Kick Off Party at Malt & Vine (16851 Redmond Way, Redmond, WA).  The newly released Wookey Jack, a rare firkin of Dry Hopped Double Jack, 14th Anniversary, 15th Anniversary and Parabola all on draft.  Firestone brewery reps will be on hand as well.  This is one of the few events I'll be attending outside of Seattle.

Saturday, May 12, 2012:

Beer Bus Crawl at Beer Authority (12716 Lake City Way NE, Seattle, WA).  "Beer Bus from The Beer Authority to 7 Seas Brewing in Gig Harbor, Silver City Brewery in Bremerton and Sound Brewery in Poulsbo then back across from Kingston to Edmonds. At each brewery or tasting room will include 3 or 4 tasters of beer, this is a chartered bus with a bathroom and you will be able to drink beer on the bus too."  There are a few other events I'll be missing to do this one - but it sounds like fun & I won't have to worry about driving.  That's a safe way to go.

Stone Brewing Company at Dog & Pony Alehouse (351 Park Ave. N, Renton, WA).  "Weather permitting our sun/dog deck will also be open. There will be seven Stone beers on tap including Stone Imperial Russian Stout, Stone Double Dry Hopped Ruination IPA, and Double Bastard Ale 2011. Todd Walton, Northwest Regional Brewery Rep for Stone Brewing Co. will be there to help host the event."
